An exciting opportunity to assist those in your local community with advice and support regarding their energy bills and switching utility companies.

Outline of the role:
• Visit members of the public in their homes to review their energy bills and assess their energy needs
• Support them in switching rates with their current utility supplier or switching to a more cost-effective utility supplier
• Host drop-in services on the Manhood Peninsula providing advice and guidance on switching utility suppliers
• Support the promotion of the SelseyWorks Fuel Poverty program at events
What skills do I need?
• A caring, mature and supportive empathy towards others
• A non-judgemental, impartial and confidential approach to support others
• A commitment to ensuring customers receive the best service possible
• Good listening skills and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read paperwork and understand the details
• Basic IT skills
• Friendly, reliable and confident team player
What training would I receive?
• NEA Training on Fuel Debt Advice in the Community
• Support and guidance on helping people switch utility supplier
• Support and guidance on dealing with members of the public
• You would be DBS checked
How much time would I need to commit to
• At least 2 hours per week (as and when required depending on client enquiries), flexible hours available including evenings
• Some weekend support for events
• One day for the NEA training
• Up to 4 Hours for Support and Guidance training
